Biblioteka bezpłatnie udostępnia swoje zbiory każdej zainteresowanej osobie fizycznej i organizacjom pozarządowym. Powierzone nam książki będą służyły osobistemu i zawodowemu rozwojowi wielu osób.

81 532 10 30.

About the project

Project "Local Actions. Global View" was implemented in the years 2014-2015. Below you can find information about the project.

Project “Local Actions. Global View” is update of previous project “Think Global, Act Local”, implemented within Youth in Action Program, Action 2 European Voluntary Service.

About the project

Project “Local Actions. Global View” is implemented within Erasmus+ Program, which offers young Europeans the chance to make a real difference to the world – and to their own lives – through the European Voluntary Service.
In a spirit of cooperation, the European Voluntary Service (EVS) provides young Europeans with the unique chance to express their personal commitment through unpaid and full-time voluntary activities in a foreign country within or outside the European Union. In this way, it seeks to develop solidarity, mutual understanding and tolerance among young people, thus contributing to reinforcing social cohesion in the EU and promoting young people's active citizenship.
The European Voluntary Service spans a wide range of areas, such as culture, youth, sports, social care, cultural heritage, the arts, civil protection, the environment, development co-operation, etc. One thing all the activities have in common is a clear European and intercultural learning dimension. EVS is a mutually beneficial process, where everybody gains from getting to know the other's culture.
Coordinating organisation of the project “Local Actions. Global View” is "Sempre a Frente" Foundation, that hosts two volunteers from Latvia and Spain and “Initiative Fund” Foundation hosts two volunteers from Macedonia and Spain. Both organisations cooperate together.
Sempre a Frente means “Always forward” and whose mission of Sempre a Frente Foundation is Learning and Growth Through Experiencing. Through their actions they support youth and adults in personal development and help them to gain key social competences.
They help to shape psychosocial abilities, to stimulate constant update of knowledge and to adjust to labour market dynamics. Using non-formal education philosophy they encourage young people to active social attitude and promote social responsibility, initiative and enterprise. They promote volunteering and non-formal education as a way to get skills desirable by young people. They support youth active participation in social life by including them into the frames of structured dialogue.
They work in three subject areas: Personal Development Lab, Centre for Youth Information and Development, Youth Actions Space.
“Initiative Fund” Foundation mission is to promote the idea of lifelong learning; create and assure conditions for propagating humanistic, pro-social, enterprising and patriotic attitudes; promote civil society attitudes and the principles of democratic state of law; support activities relating to education, upbringing, culture and art; create and promote conditions for the development of self-governance, including developing appropriate forms of authority to be exercised on the sub-local, local and regional level; conduct activities aiming at the development of entrepreneurship as well as vocational and social activation.
In this framework, we are celebrating different monthly meetings with the aim of broadening the knowledge and raise the awareness about the equality issues.
For that we find important to start our teaching by the basic concepts of human rights and equality, to have a good base for the next meetings.
Those human rights and equality concepts come from the technical vocabulary of the professionals in the field and most of the people doesn’t know anything or never thought about them. Our task is to show it in a clear and understandable way to all the participants.
Aims of the project:
This project will give us the possibility to increase the sense of the local community for human rights and the picture of the equality between humans in different ways. Participants of this project will be introduced mostly about: discrimination, stereotypes, violence against woman, examples using the past.. The inequality is a situation where every human being is treated different because of their: sex, skin, beliefs, age, religion, politics, color, nationality, tradition, birthplace, wealth, weight, style, etc...

In this framework, we are celebrating different monthly meetings with the aim of broadening the knowledge and raise the awareness about the gender issues.

For that we find important to start our teaching by the basic concepts of equality, to have a good base for the next meetings.

Those equality concepts come from the technical vocabulary of the professionals in the field and most of the people doesn’t know anything or never thought about them with a gender perspective. Our task is to show it in a clear and understandable way to all the participants.

Implementation period: 1st May 2013 – 30th September 2014

Aims of the project:

This project will give us the possibility to improve the situation of the women in different ways, like the knowledge of different skills, but also in the awareness of the women situation and the ways to reach the real equality between men and women. The inequality is a situation difficult to notice for those who suffer it, so it’s our task to show how deep the inequality between men and women is in our society and culture.

Being linked to other social foundation as “Sempre a Frente” will give us the possibility to work in the most important period for the equality, the childhood. From this link we will work in common projects, improving even more the team work skill.

Target group

The aim will be women from all ages and social condition. The meeting will be also open to the attendance of men, but they won’t be the main target of this first meeting. We’ll try to involve women associations to provide us participants or new ideas.

Themes

Throughout our meetings, we’ll focus on different subjects:

  • Introduction to a definition of equality concepts
  • Violence against women
  • Women in the labour market
  • The definition of love
  • Equality in the education
  • Different realities of women
  • The idea of beauty
