Project Overview
The project aims to strengthen the digital safety of senior citizens, who increasingly use online tools and are exposed to cyber threats. Its main goal is to equip seniors with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize, avoid, and respond to cybersecurity risks. At the same time, the project seeks to enhance the competencies of adult educators in effectively teaching cybersecurity to older learners.
To achieve this, the project focuses on developing innovative educational materials tailored to the needs of seniors (60+), training staff, and delivering practical cybersecurity trainings in Bulgaria and Poland. It also aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of two lifelong learning providers and to promote the safe and responsible use of digital technologies among seniors across Europe.
Project Objectives
1. To raise skills / competences / knowledge by at least 6 partners staff.
2. To develop innovative for partners, educational materials and tools on cybersecurity tailored at seniors.
3. To provide cybersecurity training support to at least 12 seniors in Bulgaria and Poland
4. To enhance two lifelong learning providers in Bulgaria and Poland.
5. To promote and disseminate safe and responsible use of internet and digital technologies across Europe, especially
among seniors.
Target Groups
DIRECT TARGET GROUP:
1) two lifelong learning providers who will enlarge their educational offer and increase institutional capabilities,
2) at least 6 people from the Staff of 2 partners, at least 3 people from each institution; from the categories:
- trainers, counsellors, facilitators, or
- management, or
- administration staff
Who will develop project outputs and conduct the cybersecurity course for seniors in local environment.
3) at least 12 seniors, 6 in each country – participating in the local open course on cybersecurity (online or traditional formula – depending on their needs and digital competence).
INDIRECT TARGET GROUP:
1) Adult education staff from institutions that are not part of the consortium, both administrative and adult educators (e.g.
trainers, lecturers, advisors, evaluators) who will receive information about the project results – potential future users of the
results.
2) All educational / training institutions / organizations providing educational services for adults (especially the ADULT
sector, but also VET, HEI), interested in implementing cybersecurity education for seniors to their offer.
3) All seniors in Bulgaria, Poland, and EU, who will be participants in the cybersecurity education in the future.
Project Results
1. Two international workshops.
2. 1 MOOC and traditional learning materials on cybersecurity tailored at seniors.
3. 1 Handbook for staff on how to plan, design, develop, conduct, monitor and evaluate the educational trainings on
cybersecurity for seniors.
4. Increased competences and skills among 6 partners’ staff.
5. 2 local trainings for seniors.
6. Increased knowledge / skills among at least 12 seniors.
7. Expanded educational offer on cybersecurity for seniors in Bulgaria and Poland.
